Yarran Wines is a family owned and operated winery in Yenda. The vineyards, winery and cellar door are all located a short distance from Griffith. Yenda is part of the Riverina region, the area has a long tradition for winemaking dating back to 1913 and is well reknowned for producing high quality wines.
Fruit has been grown on the family vineyard for 35 years, after an interest to create wine from a viticultural background occurred in the late 90’s. The family business has since grown from producing a single Shiraz in 1998 to many different varietal table wines, rich fortified blends and also a classic Riverina Botrytis sweet wine style (Noble rot).
The winery began with Lorraine and John (late) Brewer who have been grape growers in the region for over 30 years. When son Sam developed a keen interest in wine and began studying Oenology at Charles Sturt University in 1998 the fledgling winery emerged.
The winemaking philosophy behind the wines has evolved over time with each vintage being finely tuned to deliver the highest quality wines. Creative winemaking coupled with a strong commitment to expressing regional style has been a rewarding mix.
