Within the 1923 main building of the Hay War Memorial High School you will find the district’s honour rolls and a growing collection of the artefacts, photographs and documents relating to both district war service across the twentieth century and the school itself. Commemorations of both ANZAC Day and Remembrance Day continue to centre on this unique living war memorial. Hay War Memorial High School’s own vibrant history, educating generations of students can also be glimpsed. This museum within the school aims to connect young people of today to young people from their collective past.

Acknowledgement of Country

The Riverina recognises the Wiradjuri people, who are the traditional custodians of these lands. We pay respect to the Wiradjuri people both past and present, and recognise the culture, strength, resilience and capacity of the Wiradjuri people. We also acknowledge the contributions of Aboriginal Australians to this country we all live in and share together.
