Drench – a Healthy Dose of Culture 

Drench is a month-long festival of arts and culture during March in the Temora Shire.  
It aims to bring people of all ages together to connect and enjoy varying activities.  
Activities include food immersion, arts, live music, film, author visit and bringing our Bundawarrah Centre (rural museum) to life.

Carrathool Races 

Saturday 2 March 

The Carrathool Jockey Club organises the annual country race meeting in the small town of Carrathool in the Riverina region of NSW. The town bursts at the seams with over 1,000 excited race lovers. 

The event is a 6-race program, starting at around 1pm with local and metropolitan bookies. There are fantastic prizes on offer from our sponsors, along with the famous Jackeroo Dash and Jillaroo Sprint. 

There will be a continuous BBQ and licensed bar (no glass allowed). A range of beverages will be available including beer, wine, spirits and soft drinks with a ticket system operating for quick and easy service.

Lockhart Truck Show 

Saturday 2 March 

The Lockhart Truck Show is a display of historic and modern trucks and other vehicles. 
Feature Trucks White and Western Star.
Lots of prizes in addition to special categories:  Oldest feature truck, Typical Local Farm Truck, Feature Truck driven the furthest. People’s Choice Award.  

Venue: Lockhart Show Grounds, Lockhart
Time: Gates open at 9am – 3:30pm

Top Town Chicken Races 

Saturday 2 March 

The Top Town Chicken Races are a truly unique outback event that you won’t forget. The races have been established as a community event, allowing residents, family and friends the opportunity to have some fun.  

Key event activities include: 
• 5 race program – with numerous ways for attendees to win prize money
• Children and Adult Farmer’s Relays 
• Tug-O-War 
• BBQ, Canteen and full bar facilities 
• Coffee cart & Ice cream van

Lake Woorabinda Festival 

Saturday 9 March 

The Lake Woorabinda Festival celebrates our community with live music, food and local artisans. Entry is free, come on down and cruise your way around the Lake on one of Go Adventure Nagambie’s pedal boats, kayaks or canoes. Make your own floating lantern, watch the parade and lantern float onto the Lake in the evening, check out the fireworks and listen to the Baker Boys Band from Melbourne. There is entertainment for all the family.

Coolamon Antique Bottle & Collectables 

Saturday 9 March 

Featuring displays of bottles, tins, books, jewellery, stamps, crockery and more. Browse many tables with items for sale. Collectors’ exhibition displays from NSW, ACT and VIC.

Gundagai Producers Market 

Saturday 9 March 

Gundagai Visitor Information Centre will be holding their seasonal Gundagai Producers Market. 

Come on down to Carberry Park and check out our amazing collection of stalls attending – ranging from local products, baked goods, home decor, plants and much more! 

Drop in and support our amazing local producers and grab some goodies!

Ardlethan Picnic Races 

Saturday 16 March 

The Ardlethan Picnic Races is a unique, country racing event, with a six-race program, BYO allowed, bar facilities available, BBQ catering provided, fashions on the field and more.

Old Gundagai Gaol – Paranormal Fear Fest 

Saturday 16 March 

Unlock Your Fears: A night of fear response experiments at the Haunted Old Gundagai Gaol 

Are you ready to push the boundaries of fear and delve into the supernatural?  

Join the team from Australian Paranormal Phenomenon Investigators for an extraordinary night of psychological exploration as they conduct Fear Response Experiments within the chilling confines of the historic Old Gundagai Gaol. 

This 3-hour event is designed to challenge your deepest fears in a series of cutting-edge experiments to test your fear response. The shadows of the gaol hold secrets, and we invite you to unlock the mysteries of your own mind. 

At the conclusion of the experiments, you are welcome to ‘free time’, a time for you to run your own paranormal investigation in the gaol!

West Wyalong Rodeo 

Saturday 16 March 

Spectacular action is guaranteed at the West Wyalong Rodeo grounds. 

From the finals of the blue-ribbon Open Bull Ride under lights in the main arena, down to the aspiring young cowboys in the Poddy Ride, see Australia’s best cowgirls ‘turn and burn’ in the Barrel Race and experience all the thrills and spills of the Rope & Tie and Steer Wrestling finals.  

Enjoy the live replay on the big screen at the event. Full bar and canteen facilities, and Eftpos available.

West Wyalong Crooked Mile Show and Shine 

Sunday 17 March 

Enjoy this family fun day with kids activities, refreshments, BBQ, markets and trade stalls, trophies, prizes and raffles available. The biggest attraction at the event is the V8 Racing Simulator.

Ganmain Historical Society Museum Open Day 2024 

Saturday 23 March   

Enjoy a day out where you can watch a Blacksmith in residence, wood furniture whittling, static and operating tractor displays along with a working sock knitting machine used to knit socks for our soldiers during the Great War. BBQ lunch and refreshments will be available to buy during the day.

West Wyalong Gold Triathlon 

Saturday 30 March 

Run, swim and cycle at the annual West Wyalong Gold Triathlon. Bring the whole family, there is a race for all ages. The event caters for many different levels of fitness and experience. 

Kids under 12 can take part in the kids’ distance events. West Wyalong Triathlon will hold the series presentation at the famous Holland Park Swimming Pool after all races are completed.

Narrandera Rod Run Easter Weekend

If you’re looking for plenty of fun this Easter head to Narrandera for the Annual Rod Run. With Cruisin’ no Boozin Saturday evening displaying beautifully restored vintage vehicles from across Australia along East Street, leading into the Show ‘n’ Shine Sunday at the Sportsground with kid’s amusements, food stalls and all things Hod Rods, there is something for everyone to enjoy.

Ardlethan Country Music Festival

A three-day music event celebrating all types of music. More details and the proposed schedule are outlined on the Ardlethan Country Music Club page. Camping is available for travellers wanting to attend multiple days.

Coota Picnic Races 

Saturday 6 April 

The grandstand buzzes with racegoers during the annual Cootamundra Picnic Races, offering a delightful day out for the entire family. Here are some highlights of this lively event: 

It is held in April at the Cootamundra Racecourse, just outside of Coota. 
Local bands provide live music, while full bar facilities are available. 
Enjoy a variety of food choices including sausage sizzles, burgers, and food trucks offering coffee and pizza. 
The event features thrilling races that never fail to impress. 
Participate in the Fashions in the Field competition with a wide range of categories.

Embrace is Temora’s multicultural festival, now in its second year. It is a day to celebrate multiculturism, particularly those cultures that make up Temora Shire.

Ardlethan Art Prize
